Daily Behavior Log
Each month, your child will receive a new Behavior Log. It should be kept in your child’s Behavior Folder and brought to school each day. I will collect them in the morning, and mark them accordingly in the afternoon. This log will serve two purposes. First, it helps to hold the students accountable for their choices throughout the day, and secondly, it helps to keep you informed regarding the choices he/she has made.
Each morning, your child’s clip will be placed on the “Ready to Fly” section of our hanging behavior display. Throughout the day, he/she can move up or down the chart depending upon the choices they have made. The children can receive up to 6 points per day. Points are determined by the following:
6= Superhero Status
5= Soaring
4= Gaining Power
3= Ready to Learn
2= Warning
1= Danger Zone (student consequence given, such as time out)
0= Grounded (Consequence, parent notified, office referral-depending upon
the severity or frequency of the offense)
Each day, look for a designated number. This will tell you where your child was on the chart at the end of the day. Students move up when they are following directions and adhering to the GLOs and Tribe Agreements. A number between 3-6 is considered a good day.
Should your child end the day on a 2 or less means he/she had some challenges. An additional number and letter to specify a behavior or behaviors that he/she needs to work on will follow a /. (See the attached example)
Students who earn a minimum of 15 points in a given week will be given an opportunity to choose something from our Superhero Treasure Box! But wait…students earning an average of 25 points at the end of each month can also choose from our Superhero Chest!
Please ask to see your child’s Daily Behavior Log, and initial on the appropriate calendar day. Applaud your child’s efforts, and encourage better choices, when needed.
Each Friday, students will bring home a short Behavior Reflection Survey. It should only take a few minutes to complete. On the form, your children will rate their GLO and Tribe choices, comment on what they did well, how their choices might have affected others, and an area they’d like to work on the following week. Please have your child share their completed survey with you. The signed survey should be returned each Monday, or the first day back after a break.

The spaces show either a number of 3 and above which indicate good days. Days that also have a (/) mean your child had some challenges. The number(s) and letter(s) that follow correspond with the chart below. So for the example above, the child had good days on Monday through Wednesday, but on Thursday received a 1a and 2b. That means that he/she needs to work on showing Respect by remembering to raise his/her hand and not interrupting, as well as Responsibility by following directions. The script letter in each box are parent initials.
